A Musician’s Day In The Life

Jul 23, 2010 | Peter Tanham | 0 Comments

Have you heard about YouTube’s Life In A Day project? Tomorrow, July 24th, thousands of people around the world will be filming and documenting a day of their life. The most compelling and distinctive footage will be edited into an experimental documentary film produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald.

Because the submissions are open to anybody with a camera and access to YouTube there will probably be thousands of submissions – most of which won’t be used. The director has said they’ll be handpicking the videos that are compelling, interesting, exciting and unique.

Who better to provide some exciting footage than you – the musician! Are you playing a gig tomorrow? Or rehearsing or writing? If so, you’re probably doing something more interesting than 95% of the rest of us who might enter.

The film will be shown at the 2011 Sundance film festival next January and will also be uploaded to Youtube at the same time. It’d be a great way to get exposure for your music and to tell your own story.

So what are you waiting for? You can watch Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald discuss the project below and find out more information by clicking here.
